A Michigan TV station is planning a chilly broadcast from the annual Zehnder's Snowfest in Frankenmuth.
WNEM says its anchors will deliver the news Thursday from a desk made of snow. A crew has been sculpting the furniture piece from a block of snow that's 10 feet tall, 20 feet long and 10 feet deep.
Work began Monday sculpting the desk using hand tools, shovels, chainsaws and ice saws. It's been chilly this week in the area, with the National Weather Service forecasting a Thursday high of 29.
Zehnder's Snowfest features the work of snow and ice carving teams from around the world. This year's event runs through Monday in Frankenmuth, a tourist destination located about 70 miles northwest of Detroit.
