Two Tampa Tribune editorial writers recently were honored for their work.
Opinion Editor Joe Guidry was named the 2009 recipient of the Aldo Leopold Award for Distinguished Editorial Writing by the Wilderness Society. He was cited for his understanding of complex issues in editorials that sought to build public support for protection of the country's national heritage.
The Florida Planning and Zoning Association named associate editor Jim Beamguard as its 2009 outstanding journalist. Beamguard, said association president Jeffrey Jenkins, "consistently represented the planning profession with an honest, informative and enlightening approach."
