Regarding "Slain baby's mom to sue," Metro, July 1:
So the teen mother whose baby was thrown out of a car by the ex-boyfriend is going to sue the state Department of Children & Families and other agencies because they didn't prevent this.
This pretty much encapsulates what's wrong with our legal system. We see lawsuits and big awards all the time because someone didn't see the future. Could their stepping in have prevented this? Maybe. But could they have foreseen this? Most definitely not.
And I notice that the one person who is not being sued in civil court is the one who actually did it. But he doesn't have deep pockets.
