Regarding "Federal tax credits and discredits" (Our Opinion, Nov. 23):
An excellent piece. One of the best I have seen in the Tribune of late. It should be distributed nationally. Kudos!
"The biggest challenge is how to pay for everything" is what is so maddening about Congress. The solution is simple: stop spending.
I wish the Founders had included requiring a balanced budget in the Constitution in a way that would have been almost impossible to amend.
We are now in a crisis, which is our rapidly expanding national debt. Stop the deficit spending, and you solve the problem. It is that simple, and it is not a choice, but rather a requirement for the preservation of our great nation.
In less than a year we can replace all in Congress and one-third in the Senate who embrace deficit spending. It is time. It is past time.
