Homebuilders are "losing faith in the recovery," and thedailybeast.com quotes 16 notable economists "demanding action on unemployment and the faltering recovery." Are these folks all watching Fox News and listening to talk radio? If the GOP controlled both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue the media doom and gloom would, by now, be suicide inducing.
Don't these experts and builders know we're "on track" with Obama and his Progressive-Left Express? Even this far into the "Not-So-Great Depression," nearly 40 percent of Americans still don't understand the concept that attempting to redistribute wealth kills it or sends it into flight. Wealth, a/k/a "capital," is the thing, once invested, which exponentially grows in perpetuity, producing a much-needed byproduct called jobs, which in turn generates income for consumers to buy products. This risk vs. obscene profit reward inducement is the engine that has created the highest standard of living known to mankind.
President Obama and the Democrats are now under the hood with a sledgehammer "fixing" this motor. Confiscatory and redistributionist policy sucks that same capital into a giant black hole then spits out nothing but decline and failure. A million bucks of today's wealth can become a hundred million in taxable profit tomorrow and thousands of jobs in the future economy or, if confiscated, just another notch on Obama's golden-goose-killing stick.
Factor in the reckless spending and unprecedented debt accumulation, which there is little hope of ever reconciling, and we're on a path to collapse and anarchy. Just look to those areas that have had these people and their ilk running the show for decades: Michigan, Illinois and California and places like Greece and Venezuela abroad.
I'm not wearing a tinfoil hat here, but one really has to wonder if this isn't all part of a plan to tear down the old order first in order to build a socialist "stutopia" and one-party state.
These people are intelligent and must realize what their philosophy of command and control has produced everywhere it's ever been implemented. We'd better refocus on liberty first and foremost and stamp out the counterrevolutionary forces calling themselves "progressive" that are anathema to the Spirit of '76.
