Complete story
In yesterday's Tampa Tribune, you had a letter to the editor from a person named Joyce Neville ("No endorsements").
I would like to add some clarifying comments to make her letter "fully accurate." As it stands, it does not give the whole truth.
Neville is correct that the Republican race for congressional District 11 has four candidates, and the Hillsborough Republican Party has not endorsed any candidate.
What she failed to include is that two leading Republicans have endorsed and given their full support to candidate Michael Prendergast. The endorsements were given by former Gov. Bob Martinez and Hillsborough Sheriff David Gee.
Now the readers have the complete story.

Two sentences
Two men are sentenced to prison - one for murdering another human being and one for having weapons and drugs ("Man given 19 years on drug charges;" "Man gets 3 years in slaying plea," Law and Order, June 23).
At first glance these sentences seem reasonably fair for the crimes committed. Then one realizes that the murderer received the 3-year sentence and the dealer received the 19-year sentence.
I guess using a gun to murder "an unarmed man because of a beef over stolen drugs" isn't quite as bad as having and selling the gun.
There seems to be something wrong with this picture.

Rays' move
Tampa Bay Rays owner Stuart Sternberg has been more than patient with the lack of attendance at Tropicana Field and tried everything to improve it - to no avail.
He is correct in deciding that the team needs a new location. And what better location could there be than in Tampa?
The mayor of St. Petersburg needs to let them go or face the potential political consequences.
