Learn the Koran

As a church in Gainesville plans to burn copies of the Holy Quran, such an event represents a local expression of the largely ignorant anti-Islam hysteria sweeping our nation and should be condemned.

A person professing to be Christian and wanting to burn the Holy Quran must be ignorant that the Quran very beautifully describes the miracle birth of Jesus. The Quran has a chapter in it named after Mary, considered as a pious woman of purity and goodness in Islam.

I encourage people to learn about Islam, a path calling for the worship of the One Eternal Loving God, and to begin by examining the Holy Quran, available online. There is benefit in it for everyone, but most people won't even consider it. Muslims believe the Quran to be the final revelation from God to Muhammad, peace be upon him; as the final message to the world, affirming what was revealed to prior messengers like Abraham, Moses and Jesus. Peace be on them all.
