I keep reading where some people say they want to "take this country back." My question to them: Where do they want to take it back to?

Back to slavery? Back to the world wars or any other war? Back to the Great Depression? To Johnson and the welfare society? To Carter and the interest rates? To Reaganomics and big tax cuts and the beginning of deficits to pay for these tax cuts?

George W. Bush started his spending spree with high deficits, and he started two wars. I have lived some of the history of the United States, beginning in the 1920s, through the Great Depression and for more than two years in the jungles of the Southwest Pacific area. I'm not sure I want the tea party to take me back through my history.
