A marriage based on the concept of "my way or no way" is doomed to fail. Our elected officials appear to ignore this basic principle of life. They ignore it at our peril. United we stand; divided we fall.
The Democratic and Republican parties do not represent the majority of American voters. Consequently, I recommend a path of action that could revolutionize our government.
Demand from every individual running for office in 2012 that they sign a promissory note to compromise on every piece of legislation that will come their way. Demand that they continue to promise this until the United States is once again on its feet and united.
If they don't comply, we promise that they can forget the possibility of being re-elected.
I'm 100 percent for ideologies (liberal/conservative) but not to the point where the ideologies become so ingrained that they inhibit the growth and strength of our nation. I challenge the American voter not to vote strictly on ideology. If you do, we will have a repeat of years past.
