Regarding: "This game makes kids the stars" (Sports, Jan. 18):
Martin Fennelly could not have done a better job conveying the love and joy of all the attendees at the Shriners Hospital visit by the East-West Shrine Game players and coaches last Sunday. From the moment my son received his name lanyard stating, "Hi! My name is Paul, V.I.P (Very Important Patient," to him getting a football for autographing, and then watching him playing various games with the big college players, I had trouble holding back the tears of joy.
My son has needed special medical care, and the only place in the bay area that would treat him was the open arms at the Shriners Hospital for Children at USF.
