Up to now, the voting for our Republican nominee for president has been up to anyone who wanted to vote in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. For the most part, these have been "open" contests. If Republicans are trying to sort out who will run against President Obama, what sense is there in hearing from day-of-the-vote-switching Democrats or independents?
It all changes Tuesday. These other states tout that they are first in the nation, first in New England or first in the South. Florida is truly the first for Republicans only. All the votes will be from card-carrying Republicans only. This is as it should be.
As the first "Republicans only" primary in the South and nation, Tuesday night will reveal whom our party wants to represent us and become president. What Republicans want matters more than switching Democrats or independents. It's time for Florida Republicans to have our say. Vote!
