Two Pasco County men accused of driving under the influence with small children in their cars were arrested in separate incidents Saturday night.
Police pulled over Erik L. Reisner, 39, of 7323 Bramblewood Drive, about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, after Reisner's car was seen weaving on U.S. 19, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.
Reisner had a 5-year-old girl in his car when Port Richey police pulled him over. Breathalyzer tests showed his blood-alcohol level at 0.19. Florida law presumes impairment at 0.08.
The girl's mother picked her up, while Reisner was arrested on charges of DUI and child neglect. He was released from the Land O' Lakes jail Sunday morning after posting $255 bail.
Across the county, several people reported a red Jeep swerving, running a red light and driving into a ditch on State Road 52 at Curley Road about 11 p.m. Saturday.
The Jeep, driven by Michael Charles Zakian, 44, of 8418 Fussell Drive in Wesley Chapel, pulled into a BP gas station on the corner, where deputies were waiting.
Zakian, who had a 6-year-old girl in the Jeep with him, had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol and could not recite the alphabet, according to an arrest record. He told deputies he'd had three beers.
Although Zakian failed sobriety tests, Breathalyzer tests at the jail indicated he hadn't been drinking. He refused to submit to blood and urine tests but said he had taken oxycodone and soma, a medication with codeine in it, earlier that evening, an arrest report states.
Zakian was arrested on charges of DUI, child neglect and refusing to take a breath test. He was released from jail Sunday morning after posting $5,155 bail. It's unclear who took the girl home.
