A Hudson man was arrested Sunday on DUI-manslaughter and other charges in the December death of a 27-year-old woman.
Michael E. Yoder, 46, of 13733 Bryndlewood Court, remained in the Land O' Lakes Jail today with bail set at $16,000.
Florida Highway Patrol investigators said Yoder was driving a 2004 Lincoln north on U.S. 19 when it collided with the back of a moped near Bougenville Drive just before 9 p.m. Dec. 15.
The moped's passenger, Desiree Clements, died at the scene.
The moped's driver, Anthony Cribaro, was seriously injured and was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Cribaro, 25, of Hudson, has had several surgeries to his head and brain because of the wreck, troopers said.
Tests showed Yoder's blood-alcohol level was .095 percent at the time of the crash; Florida law presumes a driver intoxicated at .08 percent.
Yoder also faces charges of driving under the influence, DUI-serious bodily injury and DUI-property damage, records show.
