LAND O' LAKES - Renowned knife maker Tony Bose will be at Harvey's Hardware on Saturday to meet with customers. The store at 5400 Land O' Lakes Blvd. has a large selection of W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. knives, which Bose designs.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"We've been told by Case we have the largest collection of Case knives in the state," said Emma Lou Harvey, whose family has owned the store for decades. "We've gone more or less exclusively with Case. My husband had Case knives here when we bought the store in 1961 but Paul Harvey has expanded on it since 2000."
She described the event as "very informal."
Last year, Harvey's was the final stop on the 2006 Case Historian Tour. In 2005, the store hosted the Case Custom Chopper Tour, which included the giveaway of a motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers, run by Paul Teutul Sr. and his sons, stars of the reality cable television show "American Chopper."
An Indiana resident, Bose crafted his first knife in 1972 from a hacksaw blade, according to Case's Web site, www.wrcase.com.
He became a full-time knife maker in 1990.
A member of the Knife Maker's Guild, Bose's custom designs, featuring vintage patterns and modern materials, have earned several industry awards, the Web site said.
