Blackwood Studios will present "Holiday Gifts" at 7 p.m. Friday at the Pasco Middle School auditorium, 13925 14th St. Tickets are $5.
Students of the dance studio were chosen by audition in September and have been rehearsing weekly.
The evening performance is open to the public and will feature two acts. The first act, "While Visions of Sugarplums Danced ..." is reminiscent of "The Nutcracker." The audience will travel to the magical Land of Sweets, where the sugar plum fairy hosts a lavish festival inside the Candy Castle. The second act, "Go Tell It On the Mountain," will feature timeless favorites including "Santa Baby," "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," "Cool Yule" and "Go Tell It On the Mountain."
Two additional performances for middle and elementary school students will be held during school hours on the last day before winter vacation.
The performance would not be possible without the choreography of Mary Ann Blackwood, costume design by Sally Blackwood, the many parents who volunteered their time and talents, as well as the sponsorships attained by all participating dancers. A reception honoring sponsors will follow the performance.
Tickets can be purchased at Blackwood Studios, 37747 Meridian Ave., Dade City. The studio is in its 44th year of providing instruction and entertainment to the community.
