Florida Blood Services and Sam's Club are hosting an Independence Day blood drive. Help build up the blood supply by donating at select Tampa Bay area Sam's Club locations from noon to 6 p.m. today.
FBS bloodmobiles will be at Sam's Club locations at 27727 State Road 56, Wesley Chapel; 15835 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa; and 4330 U.S.19, New Port Richey.
Donors will receive a free gas card, a coupon from Village Inn for a free slice of pie and coffee, and a wellness check-up including a cholesterol screening plus a chance to win a getaway to the Tradewinds Island Beach Resort.
Healthy people 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can be blood donors. Identification is required. For information, call 1-800-68-BLOOD (25663).
For those unable to donate blood, contributions may be mailed to Florida Blood Services Foundation, 10100 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N., St. Petersburg, FL 33716, or submitted online at www.fbsblood .org.
