When life puts a tree on your house, make firewood.
That's about the only choice Barbara Bolding had.
About 6:45 p.m. Sunday, high winds broke a massive branch from a rotting laurel oak in Bolding's backyard. The branch crushed part of a shed before landing on the roof above her bed.
"I don't have insurance, but God doesn't give us more than we can handle," said Bolding, 50.
Tuesday, her best friend's son, Byron Bozarth, and several others braved the heat to cut and remove the branch from Bolding's house on Otis Allen Road.
Asked what would happen to the branch, Bolding said, "Firewood."
