A Holiday man has been arrested in connection with the theft of prescription medications during a home invasion that happened two weeks ago, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reported.
Joshua Dale Groschel, 18, of 1846 Hacienda Way, was being held Thursday in the Land O' Lakes Jail on a charge of home invasion robbery. Bail was set at $50,000.
According to an arrest report, Groschel forced his way into a home on Pecan Drive in New Port Richey at 11:55 p.m. Dec. 11 and punched the man living there in the face.
Groschel then took the man's prescription medicine while two other people stood over the victim and kicked him, the report said. The two other people have not been identified.
The victim, who suffered bruises to his back and face, received hospital treatment for his injuries, the report said. He identified Groschel from photographs.
The report said Groschel admitted to taking the prescription medicine, but denied hitting the victim.
Groschel told an investigator that he knew the victim had the medicine because he helped him move furniture about a week before the home invasion, the report said.
