One dead, two injured in New Port Richey crash

A mid-afternoon car crash in New Port Richey left one person dead and two others injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported Muriel Sinville Vitale, 86, of New Port Richey, was fatally injured when the 2000 Chevrolet Prizm she was driving north on Little Road attempted to make a left turn onto Grove Road. It struck a southbound 2003 Ford F150, driven by Joshua Michael Brown, 24, also of New Port Richey.

Brown and his passenger Emma Brown, 1, sustained injures and were transported to Medical Center Bayonet Point for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Officials said the incident was not alcohol-related. The crash remains under investigation.
