It's time to dress in layers.
With a cold front expected to hit the region today, a freeze watch has been enacted for Pasco County. During a freeze, temperatures could remain below 32 degrees for more than eight hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Freezing temperatures are possible in Pasco late today into Friday morning, the weather service said. The coldest temperatures are predicted to occur along, and just east of, Interstate 75. Winds could reach 10 to 15 mph.
Officials with the county's Office of Emergency Management remind people to wear extra layers of clothes if they will be outdoors. People who use radiant electrical space heaters should move flammable materials away from the heating unit.
The Holy Ground Homeless Shelter, 8835 Denton Ave., Hudson, and Impact Family Church, 6416 Delaware Ave., New Port Richey, will be open to those seeking shelter.
