A Pasco County man faces up to two years in federal prison for failing to pay more than $110,000 in child support, according to the U.S.Department of Justice.
Mauro A. Martissa, 45, director of a debt-consulting business, was found guilty of willfully failing to pay child support by a federal jury late Wednesday, U.S. Attorney A. Brian Albritton said in a news release. Martissa is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 20.
Since October 2000, Martissa has "failed to make a single voluntary payment," the news release said.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Office of the Inspector General.
