A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured this morning when a car rolled over him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Taner A. Markal was standing behind a 2006 Hyundai at 7341 Buchanan Drive. When the vehicle started rolling backward on an inclined driveway, Chelsea Decker, 22, jumped in to try and stop it, but the car rolled over the boy, the highway patrol said.
Taner was transported to a Tampa Bay area hospital, where he was in serious condition this afternoon, records said. He could not be flown to the hospital because of bad weather.
The incident, still under investigation, happened at 10:23 a.m., records said.
