Port Richey man arrested in March rape

A Port Richey man was arrested this afternoon, charged with raping a woman trying to use an ATM at a Port Richey bank in March.

Dexter Wandell Johnson, 30, of 9136 Gray Fox Lane, was arrested by Pasco County Sheriff's Office detectives in the Land O' Lakes Detention Center for involuntary sexual battery and attempted armed robbery. He had been arrested on other charges.

Johnson raped a woman who was attempting to use the ATM at the Suncoast Schools Credit Union, 7225 Ridge Road, Port Richey, on March 23 at 10:38 p.m., investigators say.

DNA evidence has linked him to the rape and robbery, according to investigators.
