Terry Weaver wasn't going to miss another Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
The chief executive officer of Wilson Technology Group Inc., Weaver said she attended the 2008 expo, but missed last year's event.
"It was definitely worthwhile when I was here before," said Weaver, whose Brooksville company services and installs telephone and computer systems, security cameras and other technological equipment. "It's a great way to network, increase business and meet people."
Wilson Technology was one of 90 area businesses at the event, which started 4 p.m. Friday at the Land O' Lakes Recreation Complex on Collier Parkway. The expo continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Also today is the popular Taste of the Town event, featuring nine area restaurants that will cook and offer entrees, appetizers and desserts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lonna Dozier of Hudson was participating in the expo for the first time. A consultant with PartyLite, a company that sells all manner of candles, a potpourri of scented items, dinnerware and spa-related products, Dozier said she was raised around Land O' Lakes.
"I've seen a lot of people I grew up with out here today," she said. "I wanted to come out for the networking opportunities. Tomorrow should be a pretty big crowd with Taste of the Town."
Although rain had drenched the area much of Thursday and Friday, the expo was bustling with people.
"I'm pleasantly surprised" by the turnout, said Kathy Dunkley, executive director of the Central Pasco Chamber. "People are coming out and enjoying themselves."
