A 31-year-old man has been arrested after he reportedly tried to rob an IHOP restaurant by handing a cashier a note in which he threatened to "shoot every one" if he wasn't given all the restaurant's cash, the New Port Richey Police Department reported.
Michael Douglas Keene of 3933 Saturn Drive, New Port Richey, was charged with armed robbery Saturday and taken to the Land O' Lakes Jail, where he remained today with bail set at $150,000.
After the cashier read the note, she alerted a manager who called police, an arrest report said. Police officers arrived and arrested Keene at the scene, the report said.
Although Keene's note implied he had a gun and would use it, he did not have a weapon when police searched him, the report said.
