A 23-year-old woman faces a child neglect charge after she was accused of falling asleep in a parked car, leaving a 2-year-old child unsupervised and within reach of hypodermic needles and drugs, the Port Richey Police Department reported.
Alice Lorraine Lindahl, who does not have a permanent address, was arrested and taken to the Land O' Lakes Jail on Friday, where she remained Monday with bail set at $10,000, reports said.
Police were called to a McDonald's parking lot at 8527 U.S. 19 on Friday morning after a passerby saw the child trying to crawl out of the vehicle, an arrest report said.
Lindahl was asleep in the driver's seat and inside the vehicle were needles, a syringe filled with water mixed with oxycodone and a bag containing a spoon with oxycodone residue, the report said.
A passenger also was asleep in the vehicle, the report said, but that person was not charged.
