Disney opens doors to luxury pet resort

You make sure they get the best food, proper exercise, always look good, and are comfortable when they go to bed.

After all, they're your babies, and nothing is too good for them. Right?

The folks at Disney know theirs is "the happiest place on earth" - especially at their newest luxury, full-service Best Friends Pet Care resort that promises guests will leave with their tails wagging and with a little more pep to their bark.

The 50,000-square-foot complex - which caters to dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds - even fish - offers overnight boarding, daycare, grooming services and a doggy day camp.

Bedtime story for your pooch? Check

Bottled water for drinking instead of tap? Check

Disney movies on flat-screen TVs (dog-themed, of course)? Check

Among the other highlights:

* Climate-controlled indoor suite for $37 a night or a two-room suite, which includes an outdoor patio, for $40.

* Vacation Villa, features a 72-square-foot tiled bedroom with a raised platform bed, a 28-foot private outdoor patio and a flat-panel TV. Cost is $59.

* Four 226-square-foot luxury VIP (Very Important Pet) suites that include private outdoor play yards (complete with jungle gyms and slides) and doggy pop art on the walls. These suites also come with streaming web cams which can be viewed from the resort's Web site. Suites run $76 a night.

* Kitty City accommodations include plexi-glass condos that range from two to four stories high and include separate "private relief areas." These range from $23-$32 a night.

Best Friends Pet Care, located across from Disney's Port Orleans Resort, also features a wide selection of extra amenities. Some of the a la carte offerings include:
