Deputies say Peiter Vanvliet wanted to be arrested.
He wanted to be arrested so badly, deputies say, that he repeatedly called 911 from a pay phone at 4010 S.R. 60 in Plant City, telling dispatchers there was a warrant for his arrest and that he would be waiting for them to pick him up.
There was no warrant.
But after so many phone calls, deputies granted Vanvliet, 47, his wish, according to an arrest report.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested Vanvliet, according to the report.
For misusing the 911 system.
Jail records show that Vanvliet, a self-employed home repairman who lives at 560 Joe King Road, Plant City, according to jail records, is being held at the Orient Road Jail. Bail was set at $500.
