2 Plant City commission incumbents draw no political opponents

Mayor Rick Lott and City Commissioner Dan Raulerson cruised back into new, three-year terms the easy way.

Neither drew an opponent in his bid for re-election. They will be sworn in for their new terms in June.

Raulerson and Lott were the only commissioners whose terms expire this year.

"I am looking forward to serving this great community for a second three-year term," Raulerson said. "I can't think of a better team to work with than this city commission. I appreciate your support and look forward to the many challenges that face us and the city in the coming years."

Lott was just as optimistic.

"I am thrilled to serve this great city for another three years," Lott said, entering his third three-year term. "I am looking forward to the challenges to come. We will be nimble and competitive as a city, looking to bring jobs and development to our area in the months and years to come."

If the commissioners had drawn opposition, the election would have been April 6.
