USF Students Helping Bring Election Results To You

8:49 p.m.: Every election night here at the News Center, students from the University of South Florida come in to volunteer.

The students are mostly honors political science students and graduate students. Others are local journalism students who want to gain experience in the newsroom.

Tonight there are six students seated thorough the second floor. Their main tasks are collecting local results from races in our 10 county coverage area.

They take data from the various supervisors of elections offices and help our staff enter the information into the programs that feed the election results pages you see on WFLA and TBO.com.
