St. Pete to hold rally in support of Rays, FC Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG --

A rally will be held in downtown St. Petersburg on Friday to support Tampa Bay's two sports franchises as they enter the final weeks of their playoff races.

The "Push for the Playoffs" rally, from 5-7 p.m., will be held as part of this month's First Friday Music Series and takes place on Central Avenue, between Second and Third Streets N.

The rally, in honor of the Tampa Bay Rays and the FC Tampa Bay soccer team, will feature a live performance from local rock band The Tempests.

Fans are encouraged to wear team apparel, and tickets to future Rays and FC Tampa Bay games will be given away, along with posters and other team merchandise. Beer and refreshments are available for purchase.
