TAMPA - St. Mary's Episcopal Day School's Student Council recently concluded its most successful food drive in support of Metropolitan Ministries.
The weeklong effort culminated with the delivery of more than 7,000 nonperishable items. The South Tampa school's eighth-grade class led the way among contributors, donating more than 1,800 items.
The eighth-graders earned a pizza party for their efforts but instead requested that the money be donated to Metropolitan Ministries.
