TAMPA - There's a lot going on this week at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
Twenty photographic works created by youngsters who participated in this year's Literacy through Photography Program are featured in "Eyes of a Child: Fall Showcase." The exhibit, which runs Thursday through Dec. 6, rediscovers the world through the eyes of curious children.
Also opening Thursday is the exhibit "Twice Exposed," which features 39 photographs and prints gleaned from the permanent collection of the USF Contemporary Art Museum.
By including such giants of 20th century art as Robert Rauschenberg, the exhibit defines photography through its myriad uses in today's art scene. It also hints at the extent and richness of the University of South Florida's holdings.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, Noel Smith, curator of educational and Latin American and Caribbean art at the Graphicstudio's Institute for Research in Art at USF, will discuss the "Twice Exposed" exhibit.
Admission is $4; free for museum members.
The museum is at 200 N. Tampa St. Call (813) 221-2222 or visit www.fmopa.org for information.

One 36-by-48-inch giclee on canvas of "The Godfather," embellished and certified by O'Keefe, will be offered in a silent auction. About 200 original illustrations on paper will be available for purchase.
The event is Mafia-themed, and guests are encouraged to dress accordingly. A printer's proof of "The Godfather" will be awarded the best-dressed guest.
