As part of the celebration of Catholic Schools Week, Academy of the Holy Names high school students participated in the school's annual Community Service Day.

On Feb. 2, students, teachers and adult moderators went to 19 locations in the Bay area, providing services at Adult Day Care, McDonald's Training Center, Saint Vincent DePaul Society, A Brighter Community, The Spring of Tampa Bay, St. John's Presbyterian, James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, America's Second Harvest, Mendez Center, Horses for the Handicapped, Quantum Leap Farms, Elder Link, Bright Beginnings, Faith Cafe, John Knox Village, Southeastern Guide Dogs in Bradenton and Good Samaritan Mission in Wimauma.

The daylong event, organized by Sister Mary Patricia Plumb, allowed students to work directly with seniors, children and the disabled. The rainy day did not dampen enthusiasm, and good things happened at each location.
