Dramatic dancing
Hillsborough Community College's School of Visual and Performing Arts kicks off its annual Dance Ybor series with New York choreographer Faye Driscoll's acclaimed dance theater work "837 Venice Boulevard" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Mainstage Theatre of the Ybor Arts Building, 2112 N. 15th St.
Driscoll revisits her childhood through dance, examining the construct of identity and how we place blame for our problems.
General admission tickets are $10 at the door. To reserve tickets, e-mail artstix@hccfl.edu. Performances are free to HCC faculty, staff and students with ID.

Orchestra tames Tchaikovsky
Stephan Sanderling conducts The Florida Orchestra's performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 at 8 p.m. in Ferguson Hall at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 N. MacInnes Place (formerly the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center). The program also includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 3.

The Professional Bull Riders Inc. romp into the St. Pete Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive.
The top 40 bull riders in the world go head to head against the toughest bulls the organization offers.

Wilder's Oscar winner
The Oscar Classics Movie Series at Tampa Theatre continues with the 1960 Billy Wilder dark comedy "The Apartment" at 3 p.m.
Jack Lemmon stars as an office clerk who tries to curry favor with his bosses by letting them use his apartment for trysts. The film won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Writing, Story and Screenplay.

Taste the arts in Ybor
Hungry for art? A free afternoon of visual performance art, "TAPAS: A Taste of the Arts," will be offered from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Hillsborough Community College Ybor Arts Building, 2112 N. 15th St., Ybor City.
Each year by invitation, artists present an afternoon of theater, music, visual arts and dance.
