Employees of two South Tampa massage parlors have been arrested on prostitution charges, police said.
Sung Rowe, 41, was arrested Thursday at New Gold Spa, 3637 S. West Shore Blvd. She faces charges including six counts of unlicensed practice of a healthcare professional and four counts of offering to commit prostitution, records show.
Rowe, of Flushing, N.Y., is being held on $13,000 bail.
Also Thursday, police arrested Suhua Zhang and Mei Fang at J-Spa, 4644 W. Gandy Blvd.
Zhang, 41, of Port Richey, faces three counts of offering to commit prostitution. She has been released on $750 bail.
Fang, 49, of Tampa, faces one count each of offering to commit prostitution and failing to appear in court on a prostitution charge. She was released on $2,750 bail.
"The vast majority of these massage businesses are licensed and perfectly fine," Tampa police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor said. "But we do encourage people to always ask to see their masseuse's license."
