Thirty nurses and three instructors from Jamaica recently visited Tampa General Hospital's Emergency Trauma Center to learn about new treatments and advanced emergency care technologies.
Emergency-department nurses taught the visitors about how care in the United States compares to what is available in Jamaica.
Jamaican medical providers are treating a high rate of vehicle-related injuries because of increased highway construction throughout the region. The Jamaican Ministry of Health partnered with TGH's Emergency Trauma Center to arrange the visit.
