Tampa Bay Rays fans who missed out on a chance to catch the Go-Go's last year will get another opportunity to see the 1980s female pop band next month.
The Rays announced the band will perform at the conclusion of the Rays-Oakland Athletics game Friday, Aug. 5 - a day prior to a Goo Goo Dolls postgame concert in what the team is billing as a "Go-Go, Goo-Goo Weekend."
The Go-Go's were forced to cancel a postgame concert last June after guitarist Jane Wiedlin injured her knee during a hiking fall in northern California.
The Go-Go's, whose hits include "Our Lips Are Sealed," "We Got the Beat" and "Vacation," will be the fifth act to perform after games at Tropicana Field this season.
In addition to the Goo-Goo Dolls, the remaining acts include Miranda Cosgrove (Sept. 3 vs. Baltimore) and Miranda Lambert (Sept. 24 vs. Toronto).
All concerts are free with the purchase of a game ticket.
Tickets are available through the Rays' website (raysbaseball.com), at the Tropicana Field box office, the Rays' Tampa office and pro shop, Ticketmaster locations or by calling 1-888-FAN-RAYS (326-7297).
