Seminars to help with holiday grieving

Gulfside Regional Hospice will host bereavement seminars throughout Pasco County called "Getting Through The Holidays." The seminars will offer ways to help family members and other loved ones through the holidays. The seminars will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Gulfside's Bereavement Center, 6224 Lafayette St. in New Port Richey; 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gulfside's Thrift Shoppe, 21780 State Road 54 in Lutz; 5 p.m. Wednesday at West Winds Assisted Living Facility, 37411 Eiland Blvd. in Zephyrhills; and 5:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Harvester United Methodist Church, 2432 Collier Parkway in Land O' Lakes. Artists reception set, exhibit extended

The Dade City Center for the Arts will hold a December special event that will include an extension of the historic model ships exhibit by John Evanhouse Jr. A reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at The Hibrow Gallery, 14125 Seventh St., where patrons can meet Evanhouse and learn about the seven ships that took him from hundreds of hours to seven years to complete. The reception will also feature the works of many new artists including Nadina Piehl, a glass etching and carving artist; watercolorist Kit Wintz; Pat Gatson Cauard, quilter and art teacher; and Paula Campbell, who works in acrylic mono paints. Take care of holiday shopping at craft fair

Forest Lake Estates will hold its annual Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the community park, 6429 Forest Lake Drive, off County Road 54 E. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hand-crafted and homemade items will be offered, including jewelry, jams and candy. For information, call (813) 783-3695.

Monthly book club to meet Saturday

The First Saturday Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New River Library, 34043 State Road 54 W. This month's discussion will be about "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. For information, call the library, (813) 788-6375.

Dance the night away at senior community

The Dance Club of Betmar Acres will hold a dance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Clubhouse 2, 37137 Lakewood Drive. Music will be by Larry Edwards. Betmar Acres is a mobile home community for 55 and older. For information, call Nadean Cercone, club secretary, (813) 715-0249.


Massachusetts Club sets Christmas lunch

The Massachusetts Club will hold its Christmas Luncheon at noon Dec. 8 at the T.A.T. Clubhouse, 3210 Darlington Road. Cost for members is $15, guests are $17. Arrival time is 11 to 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon and entertainment at 1 p.m. All current and former Massachusetts residents and their friends are welcome.
