Man, 30, wounded in drive-by shooting in St. Petersburg staff

A 30-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday after he was shot by a drive-by gunman near his home in St. Petersburg, police said.

At 2:50 p.m., the man contacted police to say that he had been shot in the leg while standing outside his home at 521 26th Ave. S., police said. He was treated at the scene by Fire Rescue personnel and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

The victim said he was shot by the occupants of a burgundy Honda Accord with dark-tinted windows, according to police.
