The Pregnancy Care Center of Plant City is ready to show off its recently completed expansion and remodeling.
The center at 304 N. Collins St. will welcome the public from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the open house. The festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and light refreshments.
Executive Director Darlene Davis said she's anxious to show off the work at the faith-based nonprofit agency that offers pregnancy tests, counseling for unwed mothers, parenting classes and more.
The building has been remodeled and expanded from 1,731 to 2,614 square feet at a cost of about $80,000. Many businesses have donated services and furnishings.
The center is located in a building that was a motel from the early 1950s until 1965, when Plant City's First Baptist Church bought the building for Sunday school space.
The church founded the Pregnancy Care Center there in 1972 and recently deeded the building to the center.
