There exists a fine line between advocating for the welfare of animals and making a dollar.
When this line is crossed the animals pay the ultimate price.
Help advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Lowry's reputation has been so soiled by all this mess. Since so many animals have disappeared into the night from Lowry, doesn't it seem fitting that the zoo should make a commitment to only bringing in display animals in need of rescue? With the abundance of exotics and endangered captive animals in this country, there is no shortage and certainly no need to breed more. Let's try to make amends for the atrocities committed here. We could be an example for all to follow.

Shut down the zoo. I consider the whole concept of zoo's to be barbaric and imperialistic. It smacks of 19th century thinking. "Lets put a wild animal in a cage and charge admission to the general public."

Given our current technology, we don't need zoo's. For the animals that have been born in captivity, establish large (I mean BIG) habitats, to allow the animals to live what passes for their lifes in peace. Once they have died, then the land can be used for a preserve / memorial /park. It's time we stopped jailing creatures for the crime of being creatures.

Sell the animals to a project in Dubai or another on of the UAE's and turn the place into Lowry Park Botanical Gardens, a zoo for plants. A city the size of Tampa needs a cultural institution like a Garden. We already have Busch Gardens and the animals there have a lot more space and adequate resources to maintain them.

when zoo animals are not bringing in money
they are sold to game farms, cheap
roadside zoos or circuses. animal slavery
is not entertaining to those who have
compassion for animals. all zoos are
bad.
