its clearly a good idea... no offense to any elder people, but its a known statistic that the eyes decrease in strength with age. it seems more helpful than hurtful - and i would hardly consider it age-discrimination. it's for society's well being...

i think it should be earlier than 80. what on earth is wrong with having a vision/road test every 10 years from the time you get your license?

Absolutely I agree. While we are at it, who made it lawful to allow teenagers to obtain a drivers license without any formal drivers training classes? This is not a "tit for tat kind of arguement". Too many teenage drivers are unsure of themselves on the road today and they are making it unsafe for all of us.

Who would allow a kid to drive a car that hasn't had driver's ed. That's insane. Most kids couldn't even drive a golf cart without being a show-off, much less a car. Tell me it isn't so, I thought that was a requirement in High School? As for older drivers, I think it should be mandatory to have your eyes checked every five years after 60 up until 70 and then every three years until 80 and your license revoked if you don't pass, and no one should be allowed to drive after 90, even thinking about driving after eighty is hard to fathom.
