A few weeks ago, I blogged about the indignities of pumping at work. At the time I was sneaking off to a single-stall bathroom on the second floor of my building. My human resources director then told me she was working on getting a lactation room set up. I checked it out and was pretty horrified. The HR director had tried to make it comfortable; she had even added some magazines and books on motherhood. But the room was dirty! As in, there was dirt or coffee grounds or some kind of black substance on the table and the floor. Plus, there wasn't a sink and the thought of carrying the parts to a public bathroom to wash them just didn't sit well with me. So which would you choose? The bathroom, which has its own drawbacks, or the lactation room?ADVERTISEMENT
