Columnist Steve Otto knows Cuban sandwiches. In fact, he’s our resident Cuban sandwich expert. He has sampled Cubans from Sebring to Hernando Beach to Brandon, St. Pete and Clearwater, not to mention neighborhoods from West Tampa to Carrollwood, all in search of the perfect one. Here are his top three, based on personal experience and reader recommendations:

1. Michelle Faedo's Sandwich Shop, 3609 N. 15th St., Tampa

2. Brocatos, 5021 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa

3. West Tampa Sandwich Shop, 3904 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa

Now it’s your turn. Tell us about your favorite Cuban sandwich shop.

I haven't had a cuban at any of the places mentioned here, but my favorite is at Larry's Deli in Land O' Lakes

Larry's Deli, in Land O' Lakes. I have eaten at all the others mentioned, and still like Larry's the best.

The best Cuban sandwich is at HABANA DELI (corner of Sligh and Habana). I've tried many, but this one is delicious and oh so fresh on real Cuban bread! The cafe con leche was also awsome!
