The American College of Emergency Physicians last year warned about the dangers of text messaging while walking or driving. State legislators in Illinois also introduced legislation to ban texting while crossing the street, though the bill didn't go far. Such texting accidents may be more prevalent in larger cities like Boston or New York that have more of a walking culture. Tampa, in fact, ranks as one of the worst cities for walking.
