Airlines canceled 51 departures and 48 arrivals today at Tampa International Airport as they repositioned aircraft in anticipation of where Tropical Storm Faye would interfere with operations.
St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport remained open when Pinellas County canceled its mandatory evacuation for low-lying areas, but Allegiant Air canceled all flights today. Allegiant is the only major carrier at the airport.
Officials said passengers should call airlines – not the airports – for the latest information on schedule changes.
The Tampa cancellations affected more than two dozen destinations.
The schedules of eight airlines at Tampa International were not affected by cancellations.
