SOUTH TAMPA – Izzy Ordorica returned from her official visit to UCLA on Nov. 3, thrilled with her decision to play for 11-time NCAA champion UCLA’s softball program.
According to the website Student Sports, Ordorica ranks as one of the “Hot 100” players in the country as selected by college and travel ball coaches.
Previously, Ordorica was chosen as a National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar Athlete.
She attends Chamberlain High School where she is an Advanced Placement scholar and ranks among the top five students in her graduating class. At Chamberlain she is coached by Bob Diez, Tim Mouse and Larry Rodriguez, who coached the softball team to a 2012 7-A State Championship.
Izzy started playing travel ball when she was 9 years old with the Tampa Mustangs. She plays for Wagner’s 18U gold, coached by Sean Dunn. The team earned second place at ASA Gold Nationals last summer.
Ordorica is thankful for all the years and countless hours spent on the fields and in the cages with her dedicated coaches, teammates and family.
