Seven FSU Starters Will Miss Bowl Game

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State released its official travel roster for the Music City Bowl on Saturday, and seven players who started in FSU's final game of the regular season at Florida are not making the trip.

The seven starters in FSU's loss at Florida on Nov. 24 who will be unavailable for the Music City Bowl include DT Budd Thacker, DE Neefy Moffett, LB Dekoda Watson and CB Patrick Robinson, who lead the Noles with six interceptions. On offense, starting TE Charlie Graham, RG Jacky Claude and LT Daron Rose, a product of Jefferson High, will not play in the game.

Of the regular starters on the list, none were on FSU's official injury report following the Florida game.

FSU officials declined to specify the reasons for the players being unavailable in the wake of an academic misconduct scandal that rocked the program this week. FSU officials would only confirm that up to 25 players are suspended for the Music City Bowl game against Kentucky on Dec. 31.

"It is very important that the media make clear that those missing the bowl trip are not included because of either injury or for a violation of team policy,'' FSU associate athletic director Rob Wilson said in a prepared statement. "We cannot, due to student records laws, provide more specific information with respect to each student-athlete.''
