Bucs "Don't See" Pursuing Michael Vick

TAMPA - The Falcons have decided to trade troubled quarterback Michael Vick, but they won't find a partner in the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Before it could even begin Friday, Bucs general manager Mark Dominik quickly put an end to any speculation Vick might land in Tampa Bay.

"No, I don't see that in our future," Dominik told The Tribune.

The Bucs, who are believed to in the market for a quarterback, almost certainly would have been seen as a player for Vick had Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen stayed on as coach and general manager, respectively.

With Dominik in charge of filling the roster and Raheem Morris in charge of coaching the players the Bucs' stance could be a sign they are headed for a period where character will be more strongly considered than in the past.

Vick is currently in federal prison serving a sentence handed down on felony charges related to dogfighting. He is scheduled to be released in July, which means he could be eligible to play in the NFL next season.
